Nielsen Coding Club

What happens when the people who run the research also know how to automate it?

collectanalyzepresent

The question

Most research processes are repetitive. Most researchers had never been shown how to automate them.

What we did

The Coding Club ran trainings, discussion groups and hackathons open to anyone at the company, covering Python, Google Apps Script, Spark and D3. Projects were chosen from members’ own workflows, so every lesson shipped something useful.

Impact

Hundreds of employees learned to code. The most recent hackathon alone produced thousands of hours of time savings from automated research processes.
